Bomb threat written on toilet door triggers police search on Kayseri-bound flight; officials worry of imminent threat

A bomb threat, scrawled on the toilet door of a Turkish Airlines plane, en route from Istanbul to Kayseri, led to a terror alert at Ataturk International Airport.

Acting on a call from the plane crew, police forces rushed to the scene and began searching for the bomb allegedly placed on the plane by an anonymous culprit.

The plane was immediately evacuated and all passengers on board were taken to the terminal building.

The plane was supposed to take off at 15:50 pm on its way to the eastern Turkish province. Officials at the airport suggest the note on the door could be a warning of an impending bomb attack.

The investigation is still ongoing.
