Two earthquakes rattled central Croatia and the capital Zagreb, the Croatian Seismology Center said on Monday.

The quakes, with magnitudes 5.2 and 4.9 jolted the central cities and the capital -- the first one occurring at 0528 GMT, while the second at 0649 GMT.

The epicenter of both earthquakes was located in the southeast of the central city of Petrinja and the first quake was also felt in Zagreb. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Some buildings in the Petrinja and Sisak cities were damaged due to the earthquakes.

In March, a magnitude 5.3 earthquake hit Zagreb, causing one death and injuring 27 people.

Meanwhile, the earthquake was also felt in some parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of Croatia's neighbors.
