Swedish police are investigating an anonymous Islamophobic letter containing a white substance that was sent to a mosque in the fourth largest city of the country.
The Uppsala Mosque, located in eastern Sweden, received the envelope with a threatening message, saying: "You are not welcome here."
According to a preliminary assessment by police, the white powder that was found in the letter was declared as non-hazardous.
Speaking to the Swedish public Broadcaster SVT, Shadi Kasskeen, a spokesperson for the mosque, said that this was not the first time they have encountered such an Islamophobic attack against the mosque.
"No one touched the white powder. We informed the police immediately," Kasskeen added.
Swedish police launched a hate crime investigation into the threat letter, according to reports.
