39 heavily wounded from the war-battered city lost their lives despite all efforts

A total of 265 injured Aleppans have been brought to Turkey for treatment following evacuation from the war-battered Syrian city of Aleppo, the Turkish government said Tuesday.

The Prime Ministry Directorate General of Press and Information told Anadolu Agency that 39 of the 265 injured civilians succumbed to their wounds despite all efforts.

The authorities said that 98 of the 265 injured Aleppans were wounded by firearms and 52 had skin burns, adding that 112 of the injured civilians were under 18.

Two weeks ago, Syrian opposition forces and the regime reached a cease-fire deal, brokered by Turkey and Russia, to evacuate civilians from eastern Aleppo to safe areas in opposition-held Idlib.

So far, some 44,000 people have been evacuated from the area, according to Turkish authorities.
