Trump ‘still considering’ embassy move to Jerusalem

When asked whether he planned to fulfill his campaign pledge to relocate the US embassy to Jerusalem, the president said he was still considering the issue.

US President Donald Trump reaffirmed in an interview with the Israeli Hayom journal that he was "seriously considering" moving the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.



Trump addressed the issue of Israel's advancing settlements, in addition to the prospect of moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, in the interview published on Friday.



When asked whether he planned to fulfill his campaign pledge to relocate the US embassy to Jerusalem, the president said he was still considering the issue.



'Settlements are not good for peace'


Regarding Israel's recently passed bill that sees the expansion of settlements on Palestinian lands, Trump said that he doesn't believe that advancing the settlements is good for peace.



This marks the first time President Trump has spoken directly about the issue of Israeli settlements since assuming office on January 20.
