The title above is not mine. I took it from a report that the Development-Oriented Strategic Research Center (KOSAM), which was established under the auspices of the Konya Chamber of Commerce and KTO Karatay University, started to publish regularly. The report includes the work of 83 leading think tanks operating in 23 countries in different parts of the world. In the report, which is published twice a month, it is possible to follow the global agenda through the eyes of think tanks, while at the same time, it is possible to predict the topics that will be important in the near and distant future.
Agriculture is one of the main agendas of the leading think tanks that are on KOSAM's radar. There are serious findings about the food crisis, hunger, and productivity in agriculture. Attention was drawn to a very serious crisis for the near future. There is a detailed study of the risks posed by desert locusts, which live in East Africa, Near East, and South West Asia and can travel up to 1000 kilometers in a week. In other words, we may be in a period in which not only risks such as energy, fertilizer, or war but also plant pests will pose serious risks in food.
The working subjects of think tanks are extremely important in terms of providing “insight”. In addition, the topics examined provide an important "foresight" in terms of understanding the near future. Since I have been following the aforementioned report of KOSAM, which examines the studies of think tanks, it is possible to make important observations on both issues.
