46-year-old Hasan Kaya rushed to the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, which was one of the most important defence lines during the coup attempt, immediately after hearing the news. A construction foreman originally from Sivas, Kaya was martyred at the bridge upon the gunfire of vicious plotters.
The martyr was buried after his funeral prayer held at the Kavacık Hasan Yavuz Mosque, on July 16th.
Thousands of people from Beykoz bid farewell
Thousands of people from Beykoz, as well as his family, attended his funeral ceremony chanting takbir and salawat and bid farewell to the martyr.
Born in 1970 and father of two, martyr Hasan Kaya’s name was given to a primary school in his neighbourhood to honor him, following his death at the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge on July 15.
