A young boy was killed and over 100 more Palestinians were injured by Israeli forces during clashes in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said 15-year-old Mohammad Hamayel was shot in the head by Israeli forces near Nablus city in the occupied West Bank.

It said a total of 112 Palestinians were injured by live ammunition, rubber bullets, and tear gas fired by Israeli forces.

One of the injured is in critical situation, the ministry added.

The clashes erupted after more than 40 Israeli military patrols stormed Mount Arma to disperse Palestinians who had gathered to prevent settlers from establishing control over it.

On Tuesday, the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Anti-Settlement Authority had called for a protest at Mount Arma to prevent the entry of settlers guarded by Israeli officials.

Dozens of Palestinians have been protesting in the area for almost a month, following calls by settler groups to establish a Jewish settlement.
