The Turkish Central Bank is likely to keep interest rates unchanged at 17%, according to a panel of economists surveyed by Anadolu Agency on Friday.
The second Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting of the year will be held next Thursday to announce the bank's decision on interest rates.
Among 21 economists, just six economists expect a rise in interest rates, ranging between 0.75 percentage points and 1.00 percentage points, while the rest foresee no change in interest rates.
In its last meeting on Jan. 21, the Central Bank kept its one-week repo rate – also known as the bank's policy rate – constant at 17%, keeping it unchanged.
