A police helicopter carrying seven police officers, two judges and three personnel crashed in eastern Turkey
A Sikorsky type police helicopter crashed in Turkey’s eastern province of Tunceli on Tuesday, martyring 12 passengers who were on board.
The helicopter took off from Pülümür County, and its signal dropped from radars close to 10 minutes after takeoff.
“The helicopter was carrying a judge, seven police officers, one sergeant and three crew members,” the Tunceli governor's office said in a statement.
Rescue teams have reached the wreck of a helicopter that crashed in eastern Turkey earlier Tuesday, martyring all 12 people on board.
The helicopter -- which carried seven police officers, one judge, and one army sergeant along with three crew members -- may have crashed due to bad weather conditions, the Tunceli Governor's Office said in a statement earlier in the day.
A military team from Diyarbakır and a ten-person team from the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency of Turkey has been dispatched to the scene.
