Even if World War II was won by allied powers, the real winner of the war was the U.S. As the two-pole world order was being established, the U.S. was the strongest state in the Western front. While Europe had to deal with economic recovery after the great destruction, imperialist powers like the U.S. had no choice but to leave the Middle East.
